Adam Andrzejewski’s Speech, Rockford Tea Party, April 6 2010

On April 6, 2010 – Rockford, IL – Former GOP candidate for governor Adam Andrzejewski gave a strong speech at the Rockford Tea Party. He demanded (again) that Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan and Governor Pat Quinn “open up the books” to allow citizens to see where their taxes are being spent (and wasted). The tone of Andrzejewski’s speech was reminiscent of President Reagan’s “Tear Down This Wall” speech. During his gubernatorial run, Andrzejewski demanded a forensic audit of the Illinois treasury. The Tea Party Express was part of this Tea Party event, with attendance estimated at between 2500 to 3000 people.

I wasn’t aware that those “books” were closed. I’m sure he’s just using that imagery as a loose metaphor. Just like he talks about the Tea Party becoming a “standing army” that will “march on Springfield” and “open those books”. He means that in the metaphorical sense that they mobilize and work steadily to form coalitions in order to win the election, etc., etc. etc. Those people in the lawn chairs are ready to go door to door. Right?
