@weneedmccain And when did government start tinkering with the economy? My view has not been skewed. My experience has. Just like with the way you frame things with a “cold war” mentality. If you see things as sets of extremes then every option you see is the extreme. The younger generation is not poisoned with this.

  2. takeahnase2009 says:

@weneedmccain Yeah ignoring the constitution. I hate the patriot act. I don’t think progressives are running scared at all. I think they are watching a group of old, angry white people continue to marginalize themselves to the point of crazy. How this will help influence the great middle of the road voters I do not know. Remember less than 20% of Americans claim to be a supporter of the tea party. And most of them are concentrated in the southern states. Scott Brown was hardly a game changer.

  3. takeahnase2009 says:

@weneedmccain My experience with conservatives has always been censorship. So no surprise here. Good luck with your “revolution”.

  4. weneedmccain says:

@takeahnase2009 Really??? Is that why groups are forming to counter the tea party folks? Is that why the White House on down are all blatantly lying by calling tea party groups astro-turf? Or Republican party run? Or racist? The MSM as well as the progressives are going way out on a limb to marginalize the tea party movement. Unfrotunately, almost everyone has a relative or friend involved so they know the truth.

  5. weneedmccain says:

@takeahnase2009 I’m not about censorship when the discourse is civil and respectful, I welcome it. We can go back if you like to the days of socialism and even communism in America before the cold war. We can discuss the many progressive Presidents who failed miserably in their jobs. History proves the value of consevatism and the free market. It’s government that causes the problems – 90% of the time.

  6. weneedmccain says:

@takeahnase2009 We can go as far back as 1913 and the Federal Reserve if you like. The younger generation has been blinded by removing the black/white and producing shades of gray. The ability to be objective is lost. Perspective is shoved out of the window. There’s right and there’s wrong. When you push integrity, honor, character and virtue out the window, then anything goes.

  7. weneedmccain says:

@takeahnase2009 This is how the progressives, and even Republicans have been able to trounce all over the Constitution for decades. The Constitution is a set of negative laws set up to restrict government, especially the Federal Government. But they have used interstate Commerce to blatanly overstep their boundaries for a long time.

  8. takeahnase2009 says:

@weneedmccain why not go all the way back to the founding of the country? Were you taught about whiskey rebellion? How about Gibbons versus Ogden and the Marshall court. You think I live in shades of gray, but I can say to you that you idealize an America that has never existed. There is, was and always will be tinkering in the economy by the U.S. government. They only time the government fails is when it fails to regulate business.

  9. takeahnase2009 says:

@weneedmccain I think its amusing. Sometimes people have to speak out against the hate and lies people project on the wrong party. Were you aware that most people received a tax cut last year? You would not have known that if you listened to the yelling from your crowd. That is truth.

  10. takeahnase2009 says:

@weneedmccain I’ve never had any socialists or communists censor me. They seem pretty respectable to me. Lets do discuss the failure of Progressive presidents. There has only been one Progressive president thought. Teddy Roosevelt. Talk to me about his failure. We could probably extend the discussion into his cousin Franklin. He wasn’t a total progressive but he certainly demonstrated the best of liberalism.

  11. takeahnase2009 says:

@weneedmccain After we talk about progressive “failures” can we talk about conservative failures? Like George W Bush and Ronald Reagan?

  12. weneedmccain says:

@takeahnase2009 It’s interesting you would share that. I have often stated the difference between liberals and conservatives can be found in the way they view America. America has done a lot of good in the world, has been a very generous nation as well as shed blood for freedom all over the earth. However, America is not perfect, man is not perfect and has permitted or caused some bad things as well.

  13. weneedmccain says:

@takeahnase2009 Bush was not a conservative, you error in putting him in that category. He spent like a Democrat and bloated government even more.

Now we can talk about Ronald Reagan though, a true conservative.

  14. weneedmccain says:

@takeahnase2009 I agree with you. However, don’t forget Jimmy Carter. He had the whole Trilateral commission in his administration.

  15. weneedmccain says:

@takeahnase2009 Of course it’s the truth. The Bush tax cuts were still in effect. But it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see the crazy spending going on, the bloating deficit as well as the many tax hikes coming down the pike to realize the government is going in the wrong direction.

  16. weneedmccain says:

@weneedmccain Bush also ignored parts of the Constitution along with his GOP Congress. I was never so happy to see a GOP Congress go as i was in 2006.

  17. takeahnase2009 says:

There was a tax cut for the middle class passed through the stimulus package. I got one. Didn’t you? You are either being intellectually dishonest or naive. GW Bush gave tax cuts while waging two “wars” and instead of leveling a war tax he just borrowed from the Chinese and Saudi Arabia. His tax cuts will expire at the end of the year. The rich will pay their fair share.

Did you vote for Bush? Tell me about Reagan. What was this conservative’s national debt when he left office?

  18. weneedmccain says:

@takeahnase2009 Let’s see, cigarette, alcohol, gas, not to mention the costs of all these programs on business will certainly drive up costs across the board. Not to mention the trillions they have spent, diving into generations not yet born.
    Again, Bush was no conservative.

  19. weneedmccain says:

@takeahnase2009 Now Reagan was a conservative and one of the greatest Presidents of the 20th Century. He pulled out us of stagflation from the Carter years. It’s not his fault he had a Democratic Congress, he desperately tried to curb their appetite for spending – remember the line item veto he wanted? Don’t blame Reagan, he greatly grew the economy during his term.

  20. takeahnase2009 says:

I’m beginning to think that you are just a hypocrite. But I can’t say that I am surprised. You live in a polarized world. When your generation fades we will clean up the mess that you and Carter and Reagan put into place. We will lead America to the future that it deserves and we will no longer fight the ghosts that you imagine are real.

  21. weneedmccain says:

@takeahnase2009 With the Obama and the Democrats spending us into oblivion, let’s hope there still is an America. You think taxes are high now!
I can’t argue there’s a mess to clean up, but I doubt if you’re viewpoint will move America anywhere close to where she needs to be. Take a look at the unemployment in France, that’s what’s coming under your kind of government.

  22. takeahnase2009 says:

We could do a lot worse than France if that is the future. You obviously are not well traveled. I’ve always imagined conservative utopia to be something like the Mariana Islands where there are no labor laws and unwed pregnant women are forced to get abortions if they want to keep their factory job for a low ass wage. Tom Delay said that the islands were a shining example of American style capitalism. So that is how I imagine your future America.

  23. weneedmccain says:

@takeahnase2009 Obviously I am well traveled. Mariana Islands? Let’s stick to the U.S. Let’s look at the hotspots of progressivism in the U.S. Detroit, L.A., Chicago, New York. All in serious debt due to frivilous, out of control spending.

On the reverse side, look at the Conservative States, Nebraska, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, they still have jobs, they are still thriving. The small, privately owned country banks were unaffected and did not need bailouts.

  24. takeahnase2009 says:

@weneedmccain If you were an educated man you would know that the Mariana Islands are a US territory. The population of the states that you mentioned do not even equal the population of one of the so called progressive cities. There are also more economic variables in New York City than in Nebraska. So do you really think this is a fair comparison? Also you could attribute the stability of a state to the way it is governed. Montana and Wyoming have democratic governors.
